Cons:

Sound is good but sound volume feels a bit low

Still loving it comfort wise.

e61i in silver/metallic blue?

 screenshot0039.jpg

I came across this at the Nokia website? A blue and silver combo in e61i. Will this be released in this color combo or is it just being used as a sample image. Their has to be a story behind this since I doubt Nokia not using the actual mocha/silver combo.

Mobile TV Anyone

Mobile TV

Yes you read it right. One of our operators Telenor launched mobile tv in our region. After downloading the application and paying for a $8 subscription/month I was pretty excited to see the result. It had 11 of our local stations. I tuned into 1 of the sports stations after buffering I could not believe my eyes could actually see a live cricket match. Buffering was not bad at all and quality was pretty reasonable. Most of the channels were in full screen and some in half screen. You could only change the volume control not resize the screen. Any how the major con was that I could not get it to work through edge only not wifi apparently the operator has locked external apn resulting in major gprs usage apparenlty 8kb/sec. I sat down and started finding out info of 3rd party application and streaming they were using and YES found links where their were quite a few streaming channels I could play through wifi.

Go to ww.roktv.com look for freebee tv once you sign up you can view you can watch 28 channels in your real player for free. Enjoy!

Nimbuzz - Chat

Nimbuzz

With so many chat clients available I wanted one that could only handle google chat. As my msn messenger list is too long we decided internally to have a close knit group to use google chat for work only. I found a really neat software called Nimbuzz. What I really like about the software is its alert mode which is loud and clear and the screen automatically pop’s up whenever you have a new message. You can do mulitple chat without a hitch. It has talk capability also but I really had no need to use it. I strongly recommend you try it if you are looking for a no nonsense chat software supporting google. It is a pefect fit for the e61i series.

Nimbuzz goes MSN also the new version is out.

Shozu

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Thanks to ed at eseries I have tried and used shozu. Though it is a great application to upload images to flickr or blogger etc they are having severe server problems when publishing to flickr or even blogger. Apparently the solution is to keep authenticating to flickr and blogger again which is quite an irksome project. I tried it a couple of times but it failed to work. Usually the status on share it shows as uploaded but no images are shown on flickr. Come on shozu you can do better then this. The process is also pretty complicated to authenticate and if you can find google blogger link drinks are on me. Apparently their is a java application in the making I know the developer anyone interested let me know will make you a part of the beta round.

TEXT TO SPEECH

In tools folder the most talked about application Text to Speech is a fun application.
Basically you can choose between Ed or Ellens voice which is by default in UK English. Once you select the voice you like you can increase/decrease their volume and speed with which they read or talk back to you. Depending on the language or pronunciation you can also download various voice overs from the catalog. I chose Sangeeta which was in English Indian as I am used to hearing that accent. Once you have the setting configured you can go to office folder and click on message reader. Message reader shows your last sms received with a play button. When you hit play the voice that you selected starts reading your last sms message, mind you email cannot be payed. It is pretty funny to listen to and we got a real kick out of trying different voices. I really dont understand the purpose behind it other then the visually impaired (no pun intended) but the text font are pretty big these days.

MY OWN KEY

The circular like key that you see next to the message icon is my own key. You can set it to launch any application you want. I have configured it to launch Anthony’s famous screenshot software.More new review to follow….check back soon!
