Notification Light not working!
Their was a rumor going on that the notification light (the light in the upper left corner that blinks at regular intervals whenever you receive a mail, sms or missed call) is not working at one of the forums. One of e61iblog’s members “ibulldog” has confirmed that his notification light is also not working. Please beware of this problem and check this problem immediately on your handset so you like our member don’t suffer.

Hey folks. I have some new information for what it’s worth. I contacted Nokia support today to inquire about the notification light issue. They responded immediately by asking for my IMEI number. I sent it to them, and they replied that I should contact the supplier of the phone and arrange for an exchange. So apparently, Nokia is aware of the issue of the notification light, and I’ll bet the problem is tied into certain IMEI numbers.
I also asked if the problem might be addressed with a firmware update, but they did not answer that question.
So I arranged for an RMU number from Buy.com and will get a replacement. We’ll see how the new one works.
I’ll keep you posted.

I returned two buy.com purchases because of the notification light issue. Both were bad. I decided to wait to purchase again until this issue is fixed.

Hi Scoons. It was Nokia that suggested I exchange the unit once I gave them my IMEI. With the second unit not functioning, I decided to pass on the device. I refuse to pay close to $400 and have something like the notification light not working. Mind you, I was jaded by the E62 and didn’t want to go through problems with the device again.
