My Nokia e61i fell today
The best part about blogging is that you can express your feelings with like minded people. After having a terrible meeting my e61i fell badly today face down from my colleagues desk. Guess what nothing happened to it until…yes here comes the annoying part…later I discovered that the silver back cover is moving slightly. Please symphatize with me and tell me the back cover is slightly moving in yours as well. Make me feel better.

I don’t have a casing for E61i. I need to get some leather casing for it.

I was using an ipod casing it fits pretty well just ordered 2 crystal casings will get them tomorrow. But at that particular time did not have the casing on.
But anyways this phone is more or less hard to break any other would not have taken it well.

Back side of mine is moving 1mm up and down from the beginning. It requires high pressure though.

Davit,
So basically it is not from the fall. I think I just felt it was a problem I did take off the cover and put it on again don’t feel it moving any more. Thanks

I have an E61 and have dropped it numerous times - mostly from about waist hight onto a variety of different floor types: wood, carpet, tiles & concrete - occassionally bouncing it off other bits of furniture. (No I don’t do this on purpose - just really clumsY).
The end result - yes the back casing is a bit loose, but think it always has been - but don’t think this is from the falls - think it 1mm movement has always been there as per Davit’s comment.
What really impresses me is how strong the phone is - until its last fall it didn’t even have a mark to show its other falls. It now has a small white scrape mark, on the front, just below the space bar. You can only notice it at certain angels - the finger and thumbprints on the screen are more annoying. On each fall the worst thing that has happened is that it has reverted to the Nokia Theme.
Hope my luck continues as I doubt this is the last time I drop it.

Yes it does move by one mm infact there is a gap of one mm where you can see the brown paint which is half brown and another part not really painted completely.Anyways its normal dont worry about it. Make sure you have completely fixed the back cover. When you remove it andput it back you have to slide it all the way from the lowest part of the phone and not place it on the back panel from half way up….Someone please help me with the themes unable to install any of them !!

The Application manager takes a long time to open on my E61i. Can anybody tell me if this is normal?
June 23rd, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Yes it does open up very slowly most likely as the app manager scans all the applications on the phone and memory card before displaying the result
