This doesn't happen often, but, for once, we U.S. folks get dibs on a cool device before Europe does. That was the case with the iPhone, so many U.S. consumers are already over the coolness of the iPhone by now, although it remains a very innovative phone. And by that I mean that it has an innovative interface (WAY COOL), because, contrary to what commercials want to make you believe, nothing the phone does is really new. It's just done differently. And, like anything Apple makes, the style is simple, yet beautiful and the finish is top notch.

All that being said, I could never replace my E61 or my E61i (or any Series 60 device for that matter) for an iPhone. I could live with not having video (the amazing quality of the iPhone photos make it all worth it). I could even live with the small touchscreen keyboard that offers no tactile feedback (an extremely important factor most people seem to ignore). What I could not live with is the lack of real multi-tasking and a task manager.

You see, they advertised the iPhone as a multi-tasking phone, but this really means you can play music in the background while doing other things. You cannot have Safari open (which, I agree, is the best mobile web browser to date), the e-mail application open and an instant messenger open, all at the same time, and switch back and forth. This is something I normally do on my Nokias.

The iPhone is a VERY cool phone with a very cool and quick interface. This is how it should be sold and not as a device where "you can finally have your music, e-mail and contacts together". Welcome to 5 years ago, Apple! That is nothing new.
