Nokia Content Copier
Okay so I admit I still had 256 mb memory card stuck in my Nokia e61i. I thought I will finally switch to 1 gb which cost me only $15. Now the momentous task was to switch all the info from my 256 mb to 1 gb I thought I will give content copier a crack and see if it finally works or not. After opening up the content copier I selected memory card back up only and after waiting for I don’t know how many minutes (mind you it is a pretty slow process) I finally managed to transfer files. Content Copier did work but to my utmost disappointment it copied only video, music, images, backup sms’s from sms export, contacts and a few useless items. Nopes no softwares were backed up. Then I thought I will give data transfer through cable a try.
Data Transfer using cable

After connecting the usb cable with my Nokia e61i the new drive was recognized as L drive on my laptop I copied the whole root folder to my PC G drive. The process was much faster in fact I think it only took 5 to 10 minutes. Then I copied the L folder and since I had put my mmc card with my 1 gb micro sd card in my laptop it had also created a K drive and pasted all my content in it. Please make sure to select all folders inside the root folder not the root folder. Alternatively you can also do the same with the usb cable i.e copy memory card content L drive back it up on a pc drive then copy/paste it to the new memory card. Again the process was very fast. I took my micro sd card out of the laptop and inserted in my nokia e61i. Voila all my programs, pictures, music, videos and other stuff got transferred without a hitch. Special thanks for erphan my colleague for giving this tip.

I finally took the plunge traveled for the 1st time without taking the laptop and just my Nokia e61i. Interestingly, what I have been doing since the past few months is forwarding a copy of all my emails on my gmail account. Now how that helped me was that whenever I needed some critical information I accessed my gmail account using the gmail application available at www.gmail.com/app and hit “search” presto I had all the info on my fingertips. Using gmail as an online secondary storage option is very helpful and I highly recommend it alternatively I am looking into pc access option from my device. I am trying a few pc access software will report back my findings.

Nimbuzz one of my favorite chat software has been updated. Besides adding more interactivity to the older version and support for chat/voice for Aims and Gtalk they have also added support for Msn, Skype and Hyves (whatever this maybe). Current users can open Nimbuzz to update or other users can download from www.nimbuzz.com This is one of the best chat softwares I have used recently and I strongly recommend it as a chat/im client.

I have discovered another push email service called Consilient. Unlike mail for exchange it does not use the typical device messaging interface. Consilient has its own simple and unique software that you can download after registering at there website www.consilient.com . Registration is a bit tedious and any changes you make on your mail settings have to be done on the web end which frankly speaking is a pain. Detailed review to follow.

Lordi is a cool flash lite game that has nice graphics, no sound though. Lordi is a creature who while walking with a little girl in the woods has to kill other creatures as he goes along. Game play was pretty easy, but I am guessing it must get difficult in later stages. If you download it directly on your device it will automatically recognize it as a Flash file and start playing. After closing the game, flash player does not locate the file by itself so try mobile search to locate it or move it in a folder.
Added it in the games section.

Read a very nice review of Seven Always on beta by Ed at e-series so I thought I will give it a go. At an initial glance the setup part was very easy but connectivity was not that reliable. Emails were not being pushed immediately, now that I am in the second day connectivity is absolutely fine the email viewer is slow to respond and generally the navigation within the Seven main software was cumbersome. I was pretty excited as I thought this will be a better, free alternative enabling me to send emails through my own sender id but unfortunately for now I will definitely stick to the free version Mail for exchange. But lets not forget its beta. While I was writing this email I just got my push email sound on my Nokia e61i as I was testing Seven I did not see the email icon but surprisingly when I was looking for it them email icon was in my mail for exchange. So this means we can finally have 2 push email softwares running parallel, now that’s a wow.

Recently I noticed that my emails in Mail for Exchange (push email) were opening very slowly. Whenever a new email was pushed on my Nokia e61i it kept saying openinnnnnng for ages. It was taking 30 to 45 seconds to open up one email forget about the rest. I kept wondering why this was happening? After doing some research I learnt some interesting facts.
