Consilient, another push email!

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

I have discovered another push email service called Consilient. Unlike mail for exchange it does not use the typical device messaging interface. Consilient has its own simple and unique software that you can download after registering at there website www.consilient.com . Registration is a bit tedious and any changes you make on your mail settings have to be done on the web end which frankly speaking is a pain. Detailed review to follow.

Seven Always on Push email beta is here.

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

seven

Read a very nice review of Seven Always on beta by Ed at e-series so I thought I will give it a go. At an initial glance the setup part was very easy but connectivity was not that reliable. Emails were not being pushed immediately, now that I am in the second day connectivity is absolutely fine the email viewer is slow to respond and generally the navigation within the Seven main software was cumbersome. I was pretty excited as I thought this will be a better, free alternative enabling me to send emails through my own sender id but unfortunately for now I will definitely stick to the free version Mail for exchange. But lets not forget its beta. While I was writing this email I just got my push email sound on my Nokia e61i as I was testing Seven I did not see the email icon but surprisingly when I was looking for it them email icon was in my mail for exchange. So this means we can finally have 2 push email softwares running parallel, now that’s a wow.

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

mailfoexchange

Recently I noticed that my emails in Mail for Exchange (push email) were opening very slowly. Whenever a new email was pushed on my Nokia e61i it kept saying openinnnnnng for ages. It was taking 30 to 45 seconds to open up one email forget about the rest. I kept wondering why this was happening? After doing some research I learnt some interesting facts.

Emoze another push mail service for e61i

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

emoze

Another push mail for the Nokia e61i in the offing called emoze. I did try emoze before but in order to do so server or pc side software was required to be downloaded besides the phone software. This required your laptop or pc to be constantly on and actually killed the purpose of push mail on the go.

Apparently now they are coming with an independent solution lets see how that takes off no solution for e61i yet.

Will be doing a review of their current service and get back to you.

Meanwhile Mail for Exchange still rocks!

Mail for Exchange Setup

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Lots of people still have problems configuring to Push email on their Nokia e61i. I love the mail for exchange solution and I thought I will share it with everyone especially first timers who want to install push mail now.

This will take 15 minutes so make sure you are free while doing this the rewards are plenty

This is the alternative for Blackberry connect the difference is you don’t rely on
the operator.

All you need is a free mail for exchange email account and mail for exchange software.

Mail2web setup
1st of all register mail2web for a live email account that can be
anything. Remember this is important as you will be using this email account settings.

mail2web.jpg
Once you have setup an account on mail2web install the mail for exchange software
preferably through the catalog, download area or business software link on your
phone. After installation you will now configure the software. Open mail for exchange
software go into new or add profile connections. Go into server and write
mobile.exchange.mail2web.com and save it.

Next go to connections either choose your wifi connection in my case it is mobmasti
or choose your active operator access point that you use to connect to gprs in my case i.e Telenor.
Save all this info.

mail4exchange 2

Next go into credentials and insert you username this is the complete email address that you got
for mail2web. In password enter your mail2web password and in server type ad2.

MFE 3

Save all your setting that’s it you are done setting up push
email on your phone. Make sure to enter delay time in sync mode that comes when you
open mail4exchange. For now keep it always online.

Send a test email to your mail2web account if all is fine you should receive an email.

Congratulations that will be your 1st push mail on mail.

The next question that will come into your mind but how do I get other emai account on my push
email. Simple forward a copy of all your emails to the mail2web email account.
You will start receiving full fledge push email.
