I was updating downloads on my Nokia e61i and in extra applications noticed an app called “Active Notes”. Unlike notes that allows users to write notes and send it through various options, active notices does much more. In Active Notes you can insert ???????? images, sound, video clips, business card, bookmark and also any files. Sending has various options i.e thru text message, email, bt etc.

You can also link note to a call reminding you of a particular agenda against the caller. A small but powerful tool that replaces notes on your s60 device.

Nokia threaded sms conversation has been updated and is now also available for Nokia e51 and Nokia e90 users. I did not see much of a difference but it definitely seems more stable then before. You can update it from here

Nokia beta labs has launched a much needed threaded sms application called conversation. Thanks to Ed at e-series for informing us. The application is very simple to use and is a much needed feature for our device.

With so many messengers in the web sphere here is another good Java IM I came across called MovaMessenger. Graphics wise this one is really good and it connects to almost all services one can think of. Initially you have to go through the typical registration procedure like any other messenger client.

Anthony Pranata’s famous screen shot 2.8 has been updated with additional shortcuts as blogged by symbian-device
All shortcuts with addtional key options to capture screenshots are as follow:

• Edit+ ok key
• Edit+ * key
• Edit+ # key
• Camera Key
• C (Backspace) Key

Backspace key was pretty useful instead of pressing 2 buttons now we can take a screen shot with just 1 button, I am still trying to figure out the camera key but have had no luck with it so far. Once again I thank Anthony Pranata for this wonderful screen shot that we cannot live without. Added it in the free ware section. It should work on Nokia e61i, Nokia e90 (reported by Juha Matti that version 2.8 does not work) Nokia e65, Nokia 6120 classic and other symbian 3rd edition devices.

I finally took the plunge traveled for the 1st time without taking the laptop and just my Nokia e61i. Interestingly, what I have been doing since the past few months is forwarding a copy of all my emails on my gmail account. Now how that helped me was that whenever I needed some critical information I accessed my gmail account using the gmail application available at www.gmail.com/app and hit “search” presto I had all the info on my fingertips. Using gmail as an online secondary storage option is very helpful and I highly recommend it alternatively I am looking into pc access option from my device. I am trying a few pc access software will report back my findings.

Nimbuzz one of my favorite chat software has been updated. Besides adding more interactivity to the older version and support for chat/voice for Aims and Gtalk they have also added support for Msn, Skype and Hyves (whatever this maybe). Current users can open Nimbuzz to update or other users can download from www.nimbuzz.com This is one of the best chat softwares I have used recently and I strongly recommend it as a chat/im client.
